Let’s talk about Homecoming…
As we move through this pandemic-challenged fall, we are proceeding with making plans for Homecoming, on Oct. 30, and we need your help and advice to make some good decisions.
Below is a link to a survey that we would appreciate everyone taking. It will take fewer than five minutes to complete, but the information you provide will be invaluable as we determine how to shape our 70th Student Publications Breakfast – or whatever this year’s Homecoming gathering turns out to be.
Some basics:
- The School of Media will be joining us for our breakfast event, and then will be hosting a tent during tailgating to allow alumni a base to visit and exchange fist bumps after the breakfast ends.
- While we traditionally have our breakfast in one of the large rooms on the top floor of Downing Student Union – the building we all used to call DUC – we are exploring having the event outdoors, under an open tent on the front lawn of the Adams-Whitaker Student Publications Center.
- While we usually have an open buffet, for safety this year’s food will be a selection of packaged breakfast sandwiches, danish and fruit along with coffee and water.
- We’re planning to start the event at 9 a.m., and it will end by 11 a.m. – including any programming during the breakfast, the content of which will depend on whether it is inside DSU or on our front lawn.
There is at least a decent prospect, if the pandemic continues to worsen, that WKU may change its plans for Homecoming. So we’re committed to building a flexible plan – and to doing the right thing when it comes to it.
