Avari Stamps is coming home to WKU Student Publications as the advertising adviser and sales manager on the professional staff, effective July 1.
Avari, who lives in Bowling Green, is no stranger to Student Pubs and the advertising staff. She served as student advertising manager in Fall 2019. She graduated with honors from WKU in December 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and a minor in sales.
After graduating, Avari spent 3½ years as a senior account executive with WNKY News 40 Television and for the past year has worked for Flytedesk, a national advertising firm that specializes in campaigns published in college media nationwide – including substantial advertising in the College Heights Herald.
I’m thrilled that we’re able to bring Avari back home to WKU Student Publications. As a student, she did a superb job, and her resume since then is loaded with experience in media sales – both locally working with Bowling Green businesses for WNKY, and nationally with her work at Flytedesk.
Avari arrives at a time when WKU Student Publications has been aggressively reshaping its revenue strategy while coming out of the pandemic, and offering clients opportunities to reach the WKU community through a wide variety of digital and print platforms, on-campus advertising and events. She follows Wes Orange, who left Student Publications in February to join Houchens Insurance Group, part of Houchens Industries, a Bowling Green conglomerate that is one of the nation’s largest employee-owned companies.
In a media sales environment where things change on an almost daily basis, Avari brings the energy, creativity and experience to help us grow our revenue to support the important work of the students who are the heart and soul of our media group.
Avari is from Bowling Green and is a graduate of Greenwood High School. Please join me in welcoming Avari back to Student Pubs!
