Join us Jan. 29 for the Herald’s 100th birthday party!

You’re invited to join us Wednesday, Jan. 29, to mark a century of excellence at the 100th birthday party for the College Heights Herald.

Alumni and friends are welcome at this student-focused open house, geared to helping our students celebrate our Herald, which has earned distinction as both a campus newspaper and now as a 24/7 website, daily newsletter and monthly enterprise news magazine. Please register using the form below no later than Jan. 20 so we can secure parking and plan for the event.

The event will take place regardless of the weather, unless the campus is closed on Jan. 29.

The College Heights Herald is one of the most honored student news outlets nationwide. To date, it has won 25 national Pacemaker Awards from Associated Collegiate Press, the premier honor for student media. In 2022, it was honored as the sixth most successful student-run media outlet in the century-long history of ACP.

And the Herald is on a winning streak unmatched nationwide — since 2020, it has won eight Pacemaker awards for its print edition, its website, its work across all its platforms and for innovation. No other single publication has been so honored in that time span.

Help us celebrate the storied journey of the College Heights Herald at our open house, 2:30-5 p.m. on its 100th birthday, Wednesday, Jan. 29, with a program at 3:45 p.m. While we know this event is during the week, we welcome Herald alumni (and anyone else) to join us for this casual gathering, meet the current staff and help us celebrate a century of excellence for the Herald!

(Our big Centennial Weekend for WKU Student Publications will be April 25-26. Watch for details soon.)
